I read my E-mail!Send me a note about YOUR Bieniaszes!

I've discovered 100+ various "Bieniasz" folks who passed through Ellis Island, 1892-1924.

Today, in Poland, there are 1300 persons with the surname BIENIASZ, 324 with BIENIARZ, 121 with BIENIAS'. and 3200 with BIENIAS (no accent mark).

Who's yours?

Is there really ONE single source for all BIENIASZs? Maybe, maybe not. There might be more than one, but a very finite small number. The surname BIENIASZ may have emerged spontaneously in different parts of Poland in the early Middle Ages, but not many and the evidence does not support it. It is my view that there is really only one originating point - the Benedictine Monastery at Tyniec near Krakow. It is from this Bieniasz progenitor who origins were around Krakow that all of our various family lines descend. I think the Debica-Rzeszow-Przemysl Clans may be the result of one or more of his descendants. The Northern Clan probably emerged from another. The Nowy Targ Clan from yet another.

In any event, if I do not pursue my research with the goal of finding a one single source for the origins of the BIENIASZ family, then it will never be found. It will continue to be lost to history. I have gone back over seven hundred years now and have just another two-to-three hundred years to go. Wish me luck.

Another Bieniarz Website

You are also welcome to visit another website dealing with only one Bieniasz family, that of Stanislaw Bieniarz and Michalina Rak. It chronicles their emigration to America and the founding of my family here. Just click on the link below.
