Folk Attire in Ziemia
Krakowska
The Krakow Region of Historic
Malopolska
Historic Malopolska originally had two regions: Ziemia Sandomierzska and Ziemia Krakowska. Since the beginning of written accounts of medieval Poland, the residents of Ziemia Krakowska, the Krakow Region which extended eastward to Tarnow and Debica, have had their own unique and colorful fashion style which distinguished them from folks in other regions. For the men, it included a black sleeveless morning coat, red and white striped trousers, black boots, and a red and black four-cornered hat. For the women, a white blouse and apron, black embroidered vest, flowered skirt, red boots, and a floral headpiece. |
