First Holy Communion

The dress was made by my mom and aunt. White nylon, the fabric, was sent to us from Winnipeg to Wroclaw. I remember being so angry when Mom kept measuring this gown on me over and over and over again. It wasn't easy to do the sewing as this material is very silky. I was so tired already, but the gown was done and was beautiful and nobody else had one like this. I also got fabric for a slip and it was also very silky satin. Shoes and knee highs came from Canada as well.

The First Communion head piece is very traditional in our Polish culture. Nobody there wore veils but rather white, light wreaths.
