Doing the Dunajec!

One of the more popular attractions in Poland is rafting on the Dunajec River. Authentically dressed guides navigate flat-bottomed boats filled with tourists along the scenic river's course.

The rivers of Southeast Poland are inveriably tributaries of the Wisla, the Vistula River. The notable ones - like the Dunajec, Wisloka, Wislok, and San - all have their headwaters in the Carpathian Mountains and flow in a generally northern direction to the Baltic Sea. They share one characteristic in common: they are generally too shallow and dotted with sand bars and rocky shoals to be of much commercial use. So, if you don't much care for rafting or kayaking, then put on your waders and do a little flyfishing.
