Since 1349 when a church dedicated to Sw. Barbary was built, villagers in this area have had a Roman Catholic church and/or monestary to attend. The church was destroyed twice in 17th Century invasions. The parish church of Saint Stanislaus Bishop/Martyr is heir to that Catholic legacy. Jewish residents of the villages of Dabrowki and Smolarzyny worshipped in Zolynia Miasteczko. The Jewish residents of all the other villages worshipped in Lancut. Greek Catholic residents of Lancut worshipped at Zalesie. |
