Church of St. John the Baptist

The current church was built in 1914.
The roots of Sokolow Parish go back to 1569 when King Zigmunta Augusta approved the organization of the town under Magdeburg law. The daughter of the town's founders, Anna Pileckiego, secured the approval for the establishment of the parish from Bishop Wojciecha Baranowskiego, bishop of Przemysl, in 1588. It is today part of the Diocese of Rzeszow.

In 1900, Sokolow and most of its neighboring villages were in the Kolbuszowa administrative district and Sokolow township (gmina). Jewish residents of these villages worshipped at Sokolow. The exception was the village of Wulka Niedzwiedzka which was in the Lancut administrative district and Lezajsk township; Jewish residents worshipped at Lezajsk. There were no Greek Catholic residents recorded.
