Research is still in progress on old Saint Dorothy church, but the parish appears to have established in the 15th century and the the old church built in the 16th Century
Trzcinica has been called "The Troy of the Carpathians". Great defensive earthworks were built here in 2100 BC by the Pleszow people of the Mierzanowice culture. Ethnic Poles arrived here in 770-780 AD and built subsequent earthworks.
