BIENIASZ
Jastrzebiec
The following document provides the legend of the origin of the House of Jastrzebiec of which some members of the Wiktorowski clan were a part. Accipitryn, founder of the noble house, was awarded the hereditary honor and herald/crest due his military campaign against pagans in 999 AD. However, our Bieniasz Clan is more likely associated with that portion of the Wiktorowski Clan associated with the noble House of Gryf, which originated in Branice about ten miles east of Krakow in historic Malopolska.
Wiktorowski
The following document shows the relationship of Bieniasz within the Wiktorowski clan. It records a magistrate named Bieniasz in Sieradza and a castellan named Bieniasz in Konory in 1304 AD. However, the class of nobility to which they belonged was non-hereditary.
Written by Jan Dlugosz circa 1470 AD and reprinted in Krakow in 1864.
