Church of Saint Nicholas

The origin of this parish dates back to 1346 and the reign of King Casimir the Great. An auxiliary church dedicated to Saint Sophia was built in Polomyja, then a part of Czudec Parish. In 1447, the Diocese of Krakow granted permission for Polomyja to become an independent parish and in 1557 construction was completed on the current church.

Sometime in the last one hundred years, Polomyja became Polomia. In 1890, Polomyja and its villages was in the Strzyzow administrative district and Strzyzow township (gmina). Greek Catholics worshipped at Blizianka while Jewish residents worshipped at Czudec, Niebylec, or Strzyzow.
