 This parish probably dates back to about 1368 and the reign of King Casimir the Great.

In 1890, Tyczyn was in the Rzeszow administrative district and Rzeszow township (gmina). Jewish residents worshipped at Tyczyn while Greek Catholic residents worshipped at Zalesie.
