| Bobrka is the place where the modern petroleum and gas industry was started. It was here that Ignacy Lukasiewicz dug the first "oil mine" and then drilled the first oil well. It was here that crude petroleum was first refined into kerosene to light lamps in countless homes. In 1900, Bobrka was in the Krosno administrative district and Krosno township (gmina). Jewish
residents worshipped at Dukla. No Greek Catholics were recorded as residents. |
