Parish Church of Saint Catherine

While the exact origin of Olesno remains unclear, the first church was erected there 1616 and it was replaced by the masonry church in the late 18th Century.

In the 19th Century, the sixteen villages in territory of the parish contained 5902 Roman Catholics, 194 Jews, and 4 Evangelicals.

In 1900, Olesno and its neighboring villages were in the Dabrowa administrative district and either Dabrowa or Zabno townships (gmina). Jewish residents of all of these villages worshipped at Dabrowa, today Dabrowa Tarnowska. There were no Greek Catholic residents recorded.
