Parish Church of the Transformation of Christ

Roadside Shrine
Cmolas Parish dates back to 1422 but it wasn't until 1456 that brothers Jan and Bernard Mieleccy funded the building of its first permanent church. The current church was built between 1956-1961.

However, another church building existed within the parish. The original church was moved to and re-assembled at Poreby Dymarskie between 1656-1660. It is fondly called "the old church" by local residents. Poreby Dymarskie became an independent parish in 1971.

In 1900, Cmolas and its adjacent villages were in the Kolbuszowa administrative district and Kolbuszowa township (gmina). Jewish residents worshipped in Kolbuszowa. No Greek Catholic were counted among its residents.
