You might find older parishes in old Malopolska, but not many. This parish has its roots in the 12th Century as part of the Diocese of Krakow. Today the parish maintains its main church in Wielowies plus an auxiliary chapel in the Dominican convent.

In 1900, Wielowies and its neighboring villages were in the Tarnobrzeg administrative district and Tarnobrzeg township (gmina). Jewish residents of these villages worshipped at Tarnobrzeg. There were no Greek Catholic residents recorded.
