Majdan was originally part of Cmolas Parish. King Augusta III and Bishop Kajetana Soltyska of Krakow facilitated the erection of an auxiliary church there 1765. Approval of its status as an independent parish was made in 1792 by Bishop A. Goleszewski of Przemysl. In 1900, Majdan and its adjacent villages were in the Kolbuszowa administrative district but Brzostowa Gora, Hut Komorowska, Krzatka, and Majdan were in Kolbuszowa township (gmina) while Deba, Rozalin, and Tarnowska Wola were in Tarnobrzeg townnship. Jewish residents worshipped in either Majdan or Tarnobrzeg. No Greek Catholic were counted among its residents. |
