| The parish of Stara Jastrzabka was founded in the late 16th Century (either in 1581 or 1599). Prior to that time, Stara Jastrzabka was a part of Zasow Parish and an auxiliary church building was first erected here between 1563-1568. The first church building, dedicated as Holy Cross, was destroyed in 1790. A second church, built in 1791, lasted until 1944 when it became a victim of the war. The current church was built in 1946-1947 according to plans developed in 1929. It is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles. In the 19th Century, Stara Jastrzabka was in both the administrative district and township of Pilzno. Jewish residents worshipped in Pilzno. No Greek Catholics lived in the parish. |
